Earth being used for construction of Exwick Flood Defences
During 2016/2017 the Environment Agency constructed a large earth flood barrier (known locally as 'The Exwick Dyke') to protect Exwick properties from potential flooding. Part of the work involved importing a large quantity of soil which was used to construct the barrier. This huge pile of soil was on a local playing field and was taller than the houses (in Exwick Road) behind it.
