KX300 telephone box in Fen Street
It is situated by the junction with Barker's Lane. The KX300 is a triangular unit designed mainly so that it could be used in groups, although there are many which stand alone, and there are two versions, one with two glass sides as depicted here, and another with one glass side and one fabricated side with acoustic panels and fittings for directory holders. The triangular design is believed to ensure acoustic and weather protection and to fully utilise available floor space, with raised sides to prevent the accumulation of litter.
