ST2859 : From Gun number one

taken 2 years ago, 4 km from Brean, Somerset, Great Britain

From Gun number one
From Gun number one
Looking southerly from the No. 1 gun emplacement towards the barracks and the magazine for gun No.7.

There were seven 7 inch RML guns positioned here in the late 1800s. They were muzzle loaded and were somewhat obsolete at the time. The cannon embedded in the foreground was originally a Georgian artillery piece but was used here as the pivot for the Napoleonic era.
