Lime kiln and quarry on Cringley Hill
Lime kiln and quarry on Cringley Hill
Cringley Hill is a lower western top associated with Calver Hill. The lime kiln is in excellent repair and may well have been restored. Typically, the kiln has been constructed close to the source of limestone for 'burning' and also below it to ease the carting of such a heavy raw material.
