NO8589 : Burn of Monboys at roadway bridge, Kincardineshire

taken 17 years ago, near to Backburn, Aberdeenshire, Scotland

Burn of Monboys at roadway bridge, Kincardineshire
Burn of Monboys at roadway bridge, Kincardineshire
The photographer is standing on the only public roadway bridge that spans the Burn of Monboys. The stonework in the foreground is the top course of the bridge siding masonry stonework. The burn is flowing away from the viewer on its way to the Ury Estate where it will discharge to the Cowie Water. The burn is blackish in colour at the time of the photo, since the fresh drainage from peaty soils above was enhanced by rains within the last 72 hours.
