Barnard Castle Market Cross
Also known as the Butter Market, the Market Cross is situated on a roundabout on the A67 between Market Place and the Bank and where the A67 meets Newgate. It was built by Thomas Breaks in 1747. It is octagonal and is surmounted by a bell-turret terminating in a weather-vane.
