Following the renovations at Victoria station access to the Manchester Arena from the concourse is via an elevated walkway over the boards on the right showing departures. Previously the access to the Arena was via through platforms. Now access to the platforms is via manned gateways and only rail passengers with valid passes and tickets are allowed through.
Manchester Victoria Station
Opened in 1844 (the present building dates to 1902), Manchester Victoria is the second busiest station in Manchester. It runs services mainly to destinations north and east of Manchester as well as Liverpool. There is also a Metrolink station on the line to Bury.
