Former coal mine site
Former coal mine site
This was the site of the Eden Colliery drift mine, an offshoot of the main pit at Leadgate. It closed in 1980. The old ventilation shaft is still here and contaminated water coming from the old mine is cleaned in the filter ponds shown here. Good view of Iveston village on its hilltop site in the distance.
