NZ2741 : Prebends Bridge NZ2742 : River Wear, Durham City NZ2741 : Prebends Bridge, Cathedral & Castle Prebends' Bridge is to a design by George Nicholson (1777), and it replaced a former stone bridge that was swept away in a spate of 1771. It has historic associations with JMW Turner and Sir Walter Scott.
