Wylam Brewery, Palace of Arts, Exhibition Park
Listed Grade II the Palace of Arts is the only surviving structure built for the North East Coast Exhibition that was opened by the Prince of Wales on 14 May 1929. After the exhibition closed on 26 October 1929 the building was purchased by Newcastle upon Tyne Corporation for the Museum of Science and Engineering opened in 1934. When this transferred to Blandford House as part of the Newcastle Discovery Museum - see NZ2463 : Discovery Museum, Blandford Square - the Palace of Arts housed the Military Vehicles Museum. After more than decade standing derelict the Wylam Brewery set up their headquarters in the building in May 2016.
