Kingfisher Pool frozen, Myton Fields, Warwick
The pool was created from a flood-meadow in Myton Fields, an open space by the River Avon in Warwick. It provides fishing and supervised tuition for junior and disabled anglers, organised by a voluntary committee. Pegs were sponsored by local businesses and other organisations. The cycleway and Charter Bridge were opened in 1996 as a safe route to schools north and south of the river. They have made possible a number of local walks and are part of route 41 of the national cycle network.
