This is the northern end of the 1.5 mile Plym Valley Railway, an example of the smaller kind of heritage railway. Trains were not running on this Saturday and, in any case, they were currently stopping short of this station pending track maintenance work.

The Plym Valley Railway is a 1 1⁄2-mile heritage railway based on what was once a part of the now-closed South Devon and Tavistock Railway, a branch line of the Great Western Railway in Devon.
The Plym Valley Railway was founded in 1980 with an aim of restoring part of the ex-Great Western branch line from Plymouth to Tavistock that was closed in 1962.
