St Mary's Church
The south front and apse of the church built in 1842 to replace its dilapidated medieval predecessor. Designed by the local chatelaine NY4348 : Sarah Losh and influenced by early Christian and Romanesque examples encountered on her grand tour through France and Italy, yet also a curious forerunner of the Arts and Crafts style of more than half a century later. As Pevsner, who visited in 1967, sums up: "Miss Losh was quite free in her interpretation, and quite original." Link
