Cottage at Farfield Mill
The old cottage must have been here before the adjacent cloth mill, now a heritage centre, was established in 1837. It stands on the Clough River, which flows into the River Rawthey a short distance downstream. The Rawthey is itself a tributary of the River Lune.
This area of the historic West Riding (Garsdale) was transferred to the administration of Cumbria in 1974 but remains within the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
For a view of the same cottage from above see SD6791 : Cottage beside the Clough River by Karl & Ali.
