NY4709 : Summit area of Branstree

taken 4 years ago, 4 km from Sadgill, Cumbria, Great Britain

Summit area of Branstree
Summit area of Branstree
Branstree's flat summit is marked by a cairn, (visible left of the top of a fence post), beside which is an unusual OS feature, a concrete ring. That high point is actually just south of the 713 m. spot height shown on OS maps. The woodwork at the fence/wall junction is a 'dog gate', operated by raising a vertical beam. There's a helpful notice giving instruction on its working!
