Capstan, Norman's Quarry
Capstan, Norman's Quarry
A preserved small underground stone quarry, typical of a great many that were hereabouts. The capstan hauled stone up a steeply inclined adit from the underground workings. The blocked off adit, behind the camera in this view, is seen in SY9978 : Shaft, Norman's Quarry.
