The Dunkirk Memorial, Promenade
The Dunkirk Memorial, Promenade
This is a stone monument, with a bronze relief, showing a soldier carrying a wounded comrade ashore, while an attack goes on around them LinkExternal link
Beyond the memorial, out in the harbour, is the Boskalis backhoe dredger MP40, which is an excavator, on a spud rigged pontoon, able to dredge a wide range of materials, including rubble and soft or fractured rocks LinkExternal link She is probably being used in connection with the Dover Western Docks Revival Project. Beyond the dredger is the cruise ship AIDAsol moored beside the Admiralty Pier TR3239.
