Construction of a navigational cut
Construction of a navigational cut
Compared with TR3140 : Construction of a navigational cut, the view of the excavation does not seem to have altered. Planning permission has been granted by Dover District Council, under application number DOV/16/01305, for the “modification of legal agreement (under S.106 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990) to planning permission DOV/98/00334, to allow for the removal of 20 off-street residents parking spaces (to facilitate (a) navigational cut between Dover Harbour and Wellington Dock under the Dover Western Docks Revival Scheme). However, out in the harbour is the Boskalis backhoe dredger MP40, which is an excavator, on a spud rigged pontoon, able to dredge a wide range of materials, including rubble and soft or fractured rocks LinkExternal link She is probably being used in connection with the Dover Western Docks Revival Project. Beyond the dredger is the cruise ship AIDAsol moored beside the Admiralty Pier TR3239.
