NM9560 : Shore with tree trunk

Shore with tree trunk
The shore of Loch Linnhe approaching a slight promontory. Views such as this are highly evocative of my childhood holidays spent exclusively in this area. The bouldery shores are due to the erosion of thick deposits of glacial and fluvio-glacial gravels from the last glacial maximum, and much of the level land is a remnant of raised beaches.
