East Fleet and Chesil Beach
Chesil Beach, sometimes called Chesil Bank, is an 18-mile stretch of shingle barrier beach joining the mainland with the Isle of Portland. At points, the beach is up to 660 feet wide and reaches a height of up to 50 feet. The beach and the Fleet are part of the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
