West elevation, Kelmscott Manor, Oxfordshire
This is part of the Manor house much loved by William Morris, artist and designer who lived here from 1871 until his death in 1896. He described it as '...this many-gabled old house built by simple country-folk of the long-past times' which is probably accurate if a little patronising. Listed Grade I LinkExternal link The part of the building at the right contains the brewhouse, bakery and washing copper.
