The Solent, No Man's Land fort
The Solent, No Man's Land fort
No Man's Land Fort was built in the Solent as part of the Palmerston Forts (LinkExternal link ) built between the years 1867 and 1880 to protect Portsmouth. In March 2012, No Manís Land Fort was purchased by developers Clarenco (who also own SZ6397 : Spitbank Fort and SZ6594 : Horse Sand Fort) with the intention of refurbishing it as a hotel (LinkExternal link BBC News).

This is just about the closest we got to the fort as we headed out towards the English Channel.
