Cherry Orchard Road
Cherry Orchard Road
Houses dating from around the turn of the 19th/20th Centuries, although the road itself was older, originally called Plough Lane. No 9, the house one away from the left hand edge of the photo, was home to Richmal Crompton, author of the Just William books, from 1917 until 1928. In that year she moved to The Glebe in Oakley Road in Bromley Common (see TQ4265 : The Glebe).
