SE2424 : Miniature tunnel in Lower Soothill

taken 9 years ago, near to Batley, Kirklees, England

Miniature tunnel in Lower Soothill
Miniature tunnel in Lower Soothill
This pedestrian tunnel under the Dewsbury to Leeds Railway in Lower Soothill is longer than some actual railway tunnels and has the same style of heavy engineering as demonstrated with the voussoirs and coping. The footpath from Lady Ann Road eventually emerges next to the north car park of Yorkshire Mills.
The builders were economical with clearance.
