To celebrate the approaching 75th birthday of Billy Connolly, otherwise know as 'the Big Yin', three portraits by Scottish artists were commissioned, from Jack Vettriano, John Byrne and Rachel Maclean. The originals are in the People's Palace, and they have been recreated as 15m high murals on three buildings near the St Enoch Centre. A television documentary about their production was screened by BBC, and is available on iPlayer for a month LinkExternal link and LinkExternal link is an article about the project.
