NY3463 : The Esk Boathouse

taken 7 years ago, 3 km from Rockcliffe, Cumbria, England

The Esk Boathouse
The Esk Boathouse
Once the haunt of the River Esk ferryman, who would whisk traffic across the river to a foreign shore (ie Scotland) before both the railway & the road traffic increased sufficiently for a bridge and a viaduct to be built and took away all the trade.
