The Home of The Duke's of Northumberland for over 400 years. The House is surrounded by 200 acres of landscaped grounds (Syon Park). The site was originally the location of a 15th century Abbey (dissolved by Henry VIII). The present site was acquired by the Percy Family in 1594 and has remained in the family ever since. The house and grounds are open to the public.
In the 18th century, Hugh Percy, 1st Duke of Northumberland, commissioned architect and interior designer Robert Adam and landscape designer Lancelot "Capability" Brown to redesign the house and estate.
