The gardens at Stourhead include in a number of temples inspired by scenes of the Grand Tour of Europe. This circular temple was built on the hillside in 1765. It is dedicated to the sun god Apollo. It is a Grade I listed building (List Entry Number: 1131100 LinkExternal link Heritage Gateway).
