This photo shows the finishing straight of the racecourse with Easton Neston Park in the background. The National Hunt racecourse opened in 1928 and is one and three-quarter miles in circumference. With the last mile being uphill, a racehorse must be able to stay the trip here, especially when the ground gets soft underfoot. The greyhound track can be seen to the left of the photo.
Update: it was announced on Tuesday 1st October 2019 that there would be no more horse racing taking place at this racecourse. The last horse race meeting took place on Monday evening 14th May 2018.
