'STEAM' museum, Kemble Drive, Swindon
The museum celebrates the years between 1843 and 1986 when Swindon was home to the Great Western Railway manufacturing centre where locomotives, carriages and wagons were built and repaired. It is housed in what used to be 'R' shop. A feature of the museum is the use of audio-visual displays. This one features a film loop viewed from the footplate of a steam locomotive cab.
