Mansfield: St Peter - nave and chancel
"The main impression today is due to c 1300," wrote Nikolaus Pevsner. "Both arcades were then built, with tall slender square piers with four attached demi-shafts with fillets, moulded capitals, double-chamfered arches, and heads as label stops". Elizabeth Williamson's Second Edition of 1979 explains that the organ ("Over-large and incongruous Baroque case") came from Clare College Cambridge in 1971. The glass in the east window, by Kempe, dates from 1905.
