Remains of Railway Bridge, Basingstoke Canal
Remains of Railway Bridge, Basingstoke Canal
Between Locks 16 and 15 a railway spur from the main railway line crossed the Basingstoke canal. The spur provided direct access to the army facilities on the North bank of the canal. The bridge has been dismantled but part of the supports remain. For a view of the supports on the South bank refer to picture SU9456 : Remains of Railway Bridge, Basingstoke Canal. Lock No 15 can be seen in the distance.
