Vetch pods on sandstone rock, Churchland Lane
Vetch pods on sandstone rock, Churchland Lane
Seed pods of the smooth tare (Vicia tetrasperma) arranged by a mouse on top of a flat sandstone rock. The identity of the arranger is given away by the black faeces among the green pods. The seeds of a related plant, tufted vetch (Vicia cracca), were sometimes known as 'mouse peas'.
