Drinking fountain on Cotham Hill
Drinking fountain on Cotham Hill
Bristol has a number of public drinking fountains; this one is at the junction of Cotham Hill and Hampton Road. It is a Portland limestone work with a red granite basin and was erected in 1882. Erected by S and A Turner, the script reads:

'Tremble thou earth
at the presence of the Lord
which turned the rock
into a fountain of waters'

Grade II listed.

Note also a rounded boundary stone alongside; it marks the old parish and may be well over a century old.
