College Street, York
St William's College, named after a nephew of King Stephen, founded circa 1455 to provide accommodation for the chantry priests of York Minster. After the Dissolution in 1548, the building was used as a private house. In 1902 it was purchased for use as a meeting place for the Convocation of the Province of York. Today, the building is used as a restaurant and conference centre. Grade I Listed Building LinkExternal link
