The Crown and Castle, Castle Terrace, Orford
The Crown and Castle, Castle Terrace, Orford
Late 19th century Grade I Listed hotel with earlier timber core. The site of a hostelry for about 800 years, the original inn was reputably built into the walls of the 12th century castle. During the first world war the Royal Flying Corps, later the RAF used the hotel as its Mess. Purchased in 1999 by the current owners, including Ruth Watson from the Channel 5 show The Hotel Inspector, it was fully restored as a modern country house hotel.
