ST5907 : Chetnole station platform

taken 1 year ago, near to Chetnole, Dorset, Great Britain

Chetnole station platform
Chetnole station platform
Looking north towards Yetminster and Yeovil. Opened in 1933, surprisingly late in railway terms. It was of wooden construction but rebuilt in concrete in the 1960s. The line through here was originally double track so there would have been two platforms. An unlikely survivor as it is a little way from the village which it serves and there are no parking facilities.
