The Roundhouse (Navigation Control Centre), Pocra Quay, Aberdeen
Despite the name, it is octagonal in shape. The Navigation Control Centre has been a harbour landmark for more than two centuries although there is a debate over the exact date of construction. The Roundhouse was heightened in the 1840s and the 1960s to its present appearance. The Roundhouse continued in 24 hour use until 2006, when the neighbouring Marine Operations Centre, with its latest technology and modern facilities, succeeded it. It is a Category C listed building.
