Drilling rig
Drilling rig
The modern way of doing things! No longer do teams of men drill holes by hand or with primitive compressed-air tools. This Atlas Copco Flexiroc D55 has a cyclone for collecting dust and cuttings from the air-flushed drilling process, and a magazine for automatic attachment of additional rods to the drill-string, meaning that the operator has essentially no manual tasks associated with drilling. The weathered and shattered state of the rock at this level of the quarry can be seen in the background.
