According to the notice board at the church, the official title is 'The Church of Scotland, Cathedral Church of St Machar', but it is usually known as 'St Machar's Cathedral'.
Originally built in 1422-40, there have been many later alterations and additions including spires added to the two towers. It is a Category A listed building. LinkExternal link
