White Horse and Griffin, Church St, Whitby
White Horse and Griffin, Church St, Whitby
One of Whitby's very historic pubs, it was opened in 1681 and was the departure point for the first coach to run from Whitby to York. After a somewhat chequered history, it opened in its present guise in 1993 as a pub, restaurant and hotel. It is, of course, reputed to be haunted.
