Bell's Memorial, Glentrool Forest
David Bell was an enthusiastic local cyclist and writer who died in 1965. He is reported to have ridden over 300,000 miles, sometimes in very unforgiving terrain. An inscription on the memorial reads: In remembrance of David Bell 'The Highwayman' who knew these hills so well, 1907-1965.
