Scentless Mayweed (Tripleurospermum inodorum)
This plant is a member of the Asteraceae family and can commonly be found growing in cereals, sugar beet and other arable crops. It is also a frequent garden weed. The sap contains an anti-viral agent that inhibits the growth of polio and herpes viruses. Mayweed is an archaeophyte which has been documented in the UK since the Bronze age.
