No doubt this may have been a reliable hunting ground for the 'Linton Worm'. The Cheviot Hills provide the backdrop.
Following The Trail Of The 'Linton Worm'
The 'Linton Worm' is a mythical beast believed to have lived in this corner of Roxburghshire in the Scottish Borders in the 12th century. The word 'worm' derives from 'wyrm' (serpent).

The beast was reported to be longer than three yards, and in girth, larger than a man's leg.
