The Great Parlour, Wightwick Manor
The Great Parlour, Wightwick Manor
Part of Edward Ould's 1893 extension and by far the grandest interior here. Wallpaper and tapestry by Morris & Co, the plaster frieze with scenes from Orpheus and Eurydice by Charles Eamer Kempe, who also devised the striping and colouring of the main woodwork. A National Trust property since 1937, with the Mander family still closely involved.
