Perennial sowthistles
Flowering beside the footpath to the Waveney Forest, north of St Olaves. These common and widespread thistles can grow up to 2m tall and are also known as corn sowthistle. In former times the leaves of this plant were made into a poultice to reduce inflammation and its leaves were used in salads.
