Great willowherb and Perennial sowthistles
Great willowherb (Epilobium hirsutum) is the tallest and largest flowered willowherb found in the UK. It flourishes in damp ground, such as wet grasslands, ditches, riversides and woodland clearings where it can often be seen forming large colonies. It is said to be the 'St. Anthony's Herb' of antiquity.

The Perennial sowthistle (Sonchus arvensis) can grow up to 2m tall and is also known as corn sowthistle. In former times the leaves of this plant were made into a poultice to reduce inflammation and its leaves were used in salads.
