The pink-flowering plants seen in the foreground are Great willowherb. Great willowherb (Epilobium hirsutum) is the tallest and largest flowered willowherb found in the UK. It flourishes in damp ground, such as wet grasslands, ditches, riversides and woodland clearings where it can often be seen forming large colonies. It is said to be the 'St. Anthony's Herb' of antiquity.
