Common Knotgrass (Polygonum aviculare)
Common Knotgrass (Polygonum aviculare)
Common knotgrass is common and widespread and can be found growing on the seashore, on waste ground, in fields and on roadside verges. The plant has tiny, pale pink flowers and is also known as 'Iron-grass' because of its tough, wiry roots that make it especially hard to pull up from the ground.
