Cleft with White Mines
Cleft with White Mines
The adits of the White Mines enter the hillside on the west side of Gasdale at a cleft where, no doubt, there would have been exposed veins of mineral within the rock. The mines, as with most in the area were worked for lead but the spoil heaps have been reworked subsequently for barytes.
